He figured this out by himself...honest!

Jack-Jack has some letters on the wall in his room that spell his name (made by his wonderful Aunt, by the way). We have often, at his insistence, read the letters to him, one by one, and he would repeat them. It got to the point that he would read the letters to us and have us repeat after him.

Then yesterday, dinohunter was reading him a dinosaur book (what else?), and asks him if he knows the first letter. Much to his surprise, this is what he did... (Sorry for the poor lighting- but you get the idea.)

This child is only 26 months old. I asked, no, interrogated everyone in the family and everyone was just as surprised as me. Gerb, have you been doing stuff with him in nursery?

Now what??? :)

Awesome video. Brilliant kid. Not that I'm biased or anything.

Cool kid there.

Jabber Box did that when he was 1 1/2 - 3 yrs. I was told it was called Hyperlexia. I looked it up at wikipedia and JB does NOT fit that description (autism). He did lose that ability around 3 or 3 1/2 and had to learn everything all over again.

I'm not saying Jack-Jack is going to lose it... just saying it could happen so don't freak if it does. I was worried about JB until our speech therapist explained it to me better.

PJ-
I think he takes after YOU! ;)

Far-
We'll see. He knows all of his upper case letters and is now learning his lower case. His favorite show is "Word World".
