So it goes like this...
5:15pm and I'm on my way home. My cell phone rings.
PJ, "Jack-Jack hurt his leg. I want you to come home and check it and see what you think. I've got a doctor's appointment for him at 6:30."
Me, trying to take in what he just said, " I'm on my way home right now."
I'm thinking, huh... he set a doctor's appointment, that's way unusual. I start to feel a bit anxious.
I get home and sure enough, there's Jack-Jack, on the couch crying. Not terribly, but not stopping either.
PJ- "He can't move his leg."
Okay, now I know it 's bad.
Me- "How did this happen?"
Red Pepper- "We were just playing on the trampoline and he just started crying. We weren't bouncing him or anything. Maybe he landed on his leg funny."
To this day, that's all we know.
Long story short: a trip to the doctor's, a trip Radiology at the hospital, (with Jack-Jack wincing every time I put him in his car seat), and X-rays showing a fracture on his leg, we end up seeing the on-call orthopedic surgeon in Emergency.
The doctor was able to put a splint on my little guy, well wrapped, instead of a cast.
This was how we took him home......lying down in the back seat!
(Notice the little bear with a "hurt leg" too? Courtesy of the hospital staff. He held on to that little bear through the whole ordeal.)
It was a couple of sleepless nights (for him and me) in the beginning. That was killer for both of us. Then he was waking up 3-4 times at night, needing someone to go and settle him down. Last night he only woke up twice!
The doc says he looks great. We are now just waiting for that bone to heal. Until then, we do our best to care for him and keep him entertained.

Ow! That is quite an injury! Isn't that the weirdest thing how that can happen on a tramp? I've heard of that before. Good luck through the recovery days. Remember a normal life is a boring life. ;) But, sometimes we just want a little less excitement now and then.
Sybrina-
I can't even remember what boring is! I wouldn't complain if I had a nice long stretch of "normal".
I hope he starts to feel better soon!
tchn5th-
JJ feels fine. He just needs constant help and supervision until his leg heals. 2 or 3 more weeks to go!
Just in time for the holidays, too. Jack-Jack has been a real trooper, and his siblings have been very good to take care of him. I think the biggest challenge has been the nights when he couldn't sleep very well and was up every hour. Still, as hard as it has been, it could have been so much harder.
It's been a long time since you made this post so he's probably doing better now. If not, I hope he feels better soon.
NY-
One more week until the splint is off. Yes, it's been hectic- that and all of the holiday 'what not' to do.
